zanussi oven zsg38 why does flame go out after a short time?

A) If your zanussi is clean then:- CALL OUT THE EMERGENCY GAS ENGINEER(National grid if in u.k) ON A FREEPHONE NUMBER DO NOT TRY TO LIGHT IT AGAIN. If you cannot smell gas, It might be a gas leak en route to your home, in which case, the gas authoirities should be notified immediately to check. When you lit your Zanussi, did it have a blue colour flame If the flame has other colours or is not blue, it means you have poisonous gases, possibly carbon monoxide. which does not smell. and you cannot see it. If you live in the u.k. the emergency gas telephone number for the national grid, does not carry testing equipment for carbon monoxide testing. This should be carried out separately by qualified corgi registered personnel to british gas, or an indepependant corgi registered person .

My manual oven programmer does not work. My oven has stopped working. Old Zanussi Oven. Help?

A) Just make sure the little pointer on the timer is pointing to the hand symbol and the little knob for the timer is pulled out and then it will work, all you have done is left it turned to automatic. Don't pay any attention to all these idiots that come on here with a little imformation that they have gleemed from someone else. 9 times out of 10 or more the information is totaly wrong.

Zanussi ZDQ 895 double circulation oven with problem?

Q) We have a Zanussi as above (out of gurantee). There was a pop and a flash and now the main oven does not work but the smaller on does. I assume it is a PCB that has gone but I wonder could it be a fuse for the circuit? The oven was, at the time, on its high temperature cleaning cycle. Only last week I put in a new lightbulb - ?any connection. Any help appreciated (we had a PCB blow on our dishwasher a month ago and our washing machine stopped working two weeks ago!

A) I don't know the oven specifically, but I would be most suprised if there were any PCB in your oven. Your dishwasher would have a PCB because it has a wash cyle programme (or more than one), where an array of different things happen in a particular sequence. Ovens are pretty simple : Heating element and thermostat (plus of course a light bulb and fan). Hence in your oven it would only be a fuse, or a wire, or the heating element, or the thermostat. It's not so hard to check all these, and none are seriously expensive to replace.

how do i replace the element in a zanussi ZBF 269 bukilt i oven?

A) POWER OFF Inspect inside oven, is element held with screws from INSIDE cavity? If so remove screws, withdraw ement, pull off connectors (NOTE LOCATION OF WIRES). Fit new element, reverse procedure. If no screw heads on inside , then..... Remove oven from housing, usually 2 or 4 screws through trim. Remove back cover from oven. 8 or 10 screws. Locate element and pull off wiring. NOTE LOCATIONS Remove any nuts/washers from studs, withdraw element into oven cavity. Reverse procedure with new element. Sorted!!

Problems with my tripping oven?

Q) I have a built in oven/grill, it’s about 7 years old (Zanussi). The gas hob is separate. Whenever I turn the oven on, turning the knob, the light setting works, the fan setting works, but the moment I turn it to “oven” it blows the master trip switch (ie all the sockets etc go as well), the specific cooker circuit trip remains untripped. I know this also happens when it’s turned one further to “grill” as the original time it blew the grill was on (so both elements blow the trip, even at temperature setting of “0”). It doesn't even get "hot". What I need to know is this – what can I do to get to the point that I know it is the oven and not the trip circuit? And if it is the oven, what basic things can I do to establish whether the oven is repairable? I don’t want to pay £100’s for someone to come out and put a fuse in it somewhere, but I'm not an electrician and I don't want to "Play" too much.

A) you have a bad breaker dude. the same thing happened to my oven a few weeks ago. All you have to do is take the breaker out with some screwdrivers and replace it with a new one. be sure to take the old breaker with you to the hardware store so that you get the exact right thing. it only took my husband 10 minute's to fix it and he's not an electrician either. the breaker was pretty cheap too. i think it was unter $10.00

Problems with fan oven?

Q) Hi there, We have a Zanussi built in oven, which works fine, but the fan option has stopped working. (We can still use the grill and normal oven setting). What could this be and is it easy to repair? Thank you.

A) It could be a few things. Did it make more noise before it stopped working? A faulty fan is most likely. An electrician would check power to the fan with the oven out and the back off. If you are not prepared or competent to do this, then you have no choice but live with it or get someone to check it.
